Rocky Mount Children's Museum and Science Center


The Rocky Mount Children's Museum and Science Center is one of the first museums in the United States created solely for educating children. Featuring numerous fun and educational exhibits, regular programs and classes, living and non-living animal exhibits, and a new planetarium show, the museum offers a day of learning and enjoyment for the family.

Koi Pond Brewing Company


More geared towards the adult crowd, this is Rocky Mount’s first craft brewery, located in the historic Rocky Mount Mills brewmill village. It’s both kid and dog-friendly, and frequently features food trucks and live music, as well as a bevy of drink choices ranging from pale ales, IPAs, stouts, belgians, saisons, wine and more. It’s open Wednesday to Sunday, and features both a brewery and taproom. It’s a perfect place to get some friends together and enjoy a Summer evening!

River Park North

Enjoy 324 acres of beautiful nature and trails at River Park North. This sprawling park offers a variety of activities including fishing, camping, boating, hiking, picnicking, as well as a nature center. The park also features the Walter L. Stasavich Science & Nature Center, which is a 70-seat theater with a 10,000 gallon freshwater aquarium featuring live turtles and snakes and many interactive exhibits to enjoy for the family. It’s a perfect way to connect with nature!
