Car Cleaning Hacks to Make Your Cleaning Last

Car Cleaning Hacks to Make Your Cleaning Last

The next time someone steps into your car, you don’t want them to say your car is a mess. You need to make cleaning your car a priority and follow the car cleaning hacks provided here to make your car beautiful inside and out.

Dashboard and Console

You can use a multi-purpose cleaner to clean the dashboard and console. Spray the cleaning solution on the dashboard, console, gear shift, cup holders and door handles. You can use a clean rag to clean those easy to reach places. Use a cotton swab dabbed in the cleaning solution to reach and clean difficult areas. Since your family will be sitting in the car, use a cleaner with natural ingredients. You can also mix white vinegar and water to prepare a cleaning solution at home.

Use an acid-free solution to clean the body of the car. Start from the roof of the car and work your way down to clean the hood, windows, trunk and sides of the car. Take a clean, soft cloth and spray the cleaning solution on it to get the dirt off the surface. Make sure you don’t use any solution that corrodes the paint. You can hose down the solution and dirt off the car and make it dry in the same order.

Mirrors and Windows

Use an ammonia-free glass cleaner to get the dirt off the windows. Take a cotton towel to clean the windows. It will ensure your windows do not scratch when you rub the cleaning solution on it. Wipe from top to bottom and sides to sides. Do the same with the mirrors and the interior side of the windows.

The cleaning solution to use depends on what the seats are made of. For example, if the seats are made of leather, you need to use a leather cleaning solution and a leather conditioner. If the seat covers are made of Velour, you need to use special cleaning products designed for such synthetic materials. Before applying or spraying the solution on seats, try it on a corner and see if it is safe and does not damage the color or texture of the seats.

Floor Mats

Remove floor mats from the car and shake them to remove loose dirt and pebbles. Soak the floor mats in a tub of warm water mixed with washing detergent. Rinse them thoroughly to get rid of any dirt. Hose down the cleaning solution from the floor mats and then line-dry them before placing them back inside.

Buy a wheel cleaner and follow the instructions on the bottle while applying it. Don’t leave the solution on for a longer duration than recommended. You can use an old toothbrush to remove dirt from hard to reach places. Hose down the cleaning solution and dirt, and wipe dry with a lint-free cloth.

Prepare a cleaning solution by mixing one small cup of liquid dish soap in warm water. Before applying the solution to the tires, use a high-pressure hose to remove loose dirt from the surface and treads. Apply the cleaning solution and use a brush with hard bristles to scrape off any dirt. Hose down the dirt and cleaning solution.
