The 2020 variant has undergone an outstanding interior makeover to keep up with the updated exterior styling. It is possible to accommodate eight passengers in the Base L and mid-range LE trims This seating includes the bench seats in the second and third rows. For higher trims, however, a seven-seat arrangement is available, featuring second-row captain’s chairs instead of a bench. This includes pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control and automatic high beams. The lane tracing assist is the newly introduced feature that provides a road sign reading system and helps in steering on the highway. Other options like rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring and a system for monitoring the parking distance along with auto braking, are also available.


The 2020 Toyota Highlander incorporates features that help you navigate rugged terrain. The Multi-Terrain Select system has special settings for Rock and Dirt and Mud and Sand. The all-wheel-drive system has also been updated for gaining better control over power distribution to the wheels.

Cargo Space

The Highlander offers 16.1 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third-row seats. However, folding down the third row gives you 40.6 cubic feet of space. With the second and third rows folded, you get a whopping 73.3 cubic feet of cargo space.
